Sassi Bianchi
The agricultural establishment Sassi Bianchi has 40 hectares of land at its disposal and is situated in the splendid landscape of the Chianti hills. The property lies in a woody complex, a refuge for numerous wild animals. With some luck, one can encounter hares, pheasants, wild-boars, roe-bucks, badgers, bald-coots, or wild ducks, that go to water in the lake of the establishment. It is in the centre of an ideal triangle, where the vertexes are Volterra, San Gimignano and Colle Val d'Elsa. Guests are welcomed in 4 farm houses of the 16th century, completely restored and independent, furnished with taste by the owners, with beautiful antique forniture. Il Molinello
"Il Molinello" is built on a big travertine base, already used in Etruscan era for the building of tombs. A very beautiful example may be admired just near the farm. This travertine has been formed near the outlet of a thermal spring, which in ancient times has been canalised into the inside of the house and exploited to set in action a little horizontal wheel Mill (Molino), whose ruins have recently been renovated. We have reconstructed the history of our farm thanks to the documents of the ancient Spedale Santa Maria della Scala in Siena, owner, among others, of Grancia delle Serre, of which "Il Molinello" was one of the farms. Sant'Antonio Country Resort
Sant'Antonio Country Resort, originally a Franciscan Monastery dating back to the 12th century. Over the past 800 years the Monastery has experienced the odd transformation done by the monks and farmers who over the centuries lived and worked the land, however the beauty of the property still remains and has been treasured. In 1976, the property was placed into the hands of my business partner & adviser, but most of all, friend, the late Franco Sorbini who initiated the complex restoration of Sant' Antonio which as he taught me, shall never end. There is always more to do! The Monastery consisting of farmland and forests, was deliberately built on the foot hill of an ancient Etruscan sacred mountain called Totona allowing for cool breezes to keep the olives and farmland cool, even during the hottest hours of the day. "La Nievolina" is a lovely villa with swimming pool set among the tuscan hills close to Florence, Lucca, Pisa and to all best spots in Tuscany. The villa is rented weekly (saturday/saturday) all year long and is equipped with all the best comforts and furnished in a old tuscan style.It can accomodate up to 8 guests (9 with extrabed) and has a patio, porch and gardens for playing, suntanning, resting and relaxing. Hotel Casale Le Torri
Hotel Casale Le Torri is an old country manor house with a lovely garden surrounded by olive trees in the countryside near to Pisa (25 Kms) and Livorno (25 Kms). A careful renovation has preserved the characteristics of the Tuscan manor, integrating it with all modern day comfort (swimming pool, conference room with internet access, Tv room, private parking for buses, cars and bikes). The relais has 13 rooms and 4 appartments which have all facilities (air conditioning, heating, hair dryer, tv sat). The appartments are available for weekly stay. Then we have a charming restaurant (with a big terrace and a wonderful view on the valley) which offers creative cuisine based on tuscan tradition.
